Haider Ali makes school bags and rucksacks. He lives in the city of Lahore. He is 20 year old and single. He lives with his four brothers and parents. Three of his brothers are going to school. He sells the bags he makes to retailers in different markets. He visits the markets with a sample bag and gets his orders. On average, Haider Sahib earns around 18,000 rupees (about $171) per month. His household expenses are hardly covered by his income. He wants to expand his business so he has requested a loan in order to buy the materials that he uses in bulk such as fabric, zips and threads. He will buy all these items from Shah Alam market, and cloth for the bags from Azam Cloth market. He is hopeful that he can increase his earnings through this expansion. If his business grows properly, Haider Sahib might be in a position to hire one employee and will be able to take more orders from retailers.
