Pidenam Adewi is a medical assistant in the district of Agoe in Lomé. She is 28 and two years ago, after completing her studies, started working in a public hospital in the city. However, her salary as a public employee is not particularly high and with thoughts of starting a family, Pidenam started an additional business selling clothes. Pidenam cycles to various company offices (often to established clients) in Lomé selling different fabrics, clothes and jewellery that she has bought at the large public market. she adds a mark up for her profit. Pideman wants to open a shop one day. She requested a loan of 700,000 West African francs repayable over 12 months in order to buy new stock in bulk.
