Sabir Masih is 29 years old and married. He has no children. He lives in Badami Bagh area of Lahore in Pakistan. He also supports his parents who live with him and his wife. Sabir is a rickshaw driver earning about 18,000 Rupees per month (about $172). He has been a rickshaw driver for the last five years. His rickshaw needs substantial repairs as the engine is in poor condition and keeps breaking down. He has lost several passengers because he breaks down every now and then. He is struggling to cover his household expenses and this is causing him a great deal of worry. He has applied for a loan so that he can have the rickshaw’s engine overhauled at the garage. He will also make some refurbishments to its body. When his rickshaw is restored he will have a regular income once more to provide comfortably for his family.
