Gina Mapa is a 39 year old married woman with three children. All of her children are attending local school in their place called

Aliwanay, in the town of Balamban in Cebu province. Her husband, Jayfer, is 35 years old. Gina and her husband run a food stall in the town's public market, they offer a traditional snack called puto maya, (made of rice, ginger, condensed milk and sugar), bread, hot chocolate, coffee and milk. She starts cooking as early as 2 in the morning. Most of her customers are market vendors who are also awake at dawn to manage their businesses. Her weekends are considered the busiest for she could sell 50 kilos of puto maya. She also hires one female staff who will help her in dealing with the customers' orders. Her business was started by her father, 21 years ago. Gina is supported by the MFI, Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative with affordable loans. She requested her 11th loan for the purpose of having additional working capital to purchase the ingredients for her puto maya business, mainly quality rice in bulk. Gina was first funded by Lendwithcare lenders last January and fully repaid her loan without difficulty. She will repay her loan in 3 months.
