Loan description:
Rany Sanh is 40 years old and married with six children. Her children are aged between 16 and 4 years old and three of are still studying at school. Presently they live in Sambok Ok village, which is in Sangke district, Battambang province. Rany and her husband farm eight hectares of rice paddy and the yield gives them around three tonnes per hectare. Two tonnes of this rice is kept for their basic need and the rest sold out to a trader. To earn extra income for her household they have another business running a general store from their home. Rany and her husband have been operating this store for the past three years. They sell a wide range of items such as sugar, salt, cooking oil, milk, soybean and commercial feed. With this business they can make a profit of around $8 a day. To meet the demand of villagers while their working capital is limited, they have sought a loan in order to renew and replenish their stock. They promise to pay this loan back over 14 months.
