Zimbabwe
Loan description:
Showers of Blessing group is based in Dzivarasekwa, Harare. The group is now left with two members. It was formed in March 2014 with five members, got financial literacy and group dynamics training, eventually received their first loan in April 2014. Both entrepreneurs in the group have grocery shops though their businesses are at different levels. Shyleen benefited greatly from her previous loans. Her journey of a thousand miles began with a roadside stall selling groceries and following her training, she managed to open a tuck shop. Though it was poorly stocked when she started she improved stock levels with further loans. At her age of 28 she is supporting almost all the family needs since her husband is currently unemployed. She also employs one person. She has improved most of the property where the family lives using profits from the business. This group has a good repayment history since the departure of members with problems. Shyleen is planning to open her second tuck shop and will use the latest loan to restock it.
Please note that Zimbabwe is at present going through a severe economic recession and that there is an additional risk that some of the loans might be delayed or defaulted. You can find more information here.
