The Chitukuko group of Zambia has a membership of 19 women aged between 20 to 53. These women have a total 102 children who are in school and also look after 22 school going orphans. The women of Chitukuko group run small scale businesses with the aim of reducing poverty levels in their families. They sell goods like assorted groceries, vegetables and kapenta (small dried fish). Fosi Nyirenda 52 year is a member of this group. She is married and has two children who are in collage. Fosi runs a grocery stall selling soap, cooking oil, rice and candles in the local market of her area. She is requesting for this loan to order more stocks of soap, sugar, cooking oil and salt. She hopes to be able to pay collage fees for her children from the profits of her business.
