Using gas for cooking is rapidly becoming more common in households, but charcoal still remains the main source of energy in this regard. Kpandjapou runs the business from her home, where she is assisted by 1 employee. She is now seeking her first loan from the microfinance organisation WAGES for 400,000 West African francs, which she will repay in 12 months. The loan will enable her to expand her stocks of charcoal and develop her business. Kpandjapou hopes that this financial support from WAGES will enable her to reach more customers, realise greater profits and thus improve her living conditions.

Kpandjapou est revendeuse de charbon de bois. Elle achète les sacs de charbon de bois à l’intérieur du pays précisément dans la ville de Bassar. L’utilisation du gaz pour la cuisson est en pleine expansion dans les ménages mais le charbon de bois demeure la principale source d’énergie en la matière. La vente de ces articles se fait au détail et à son domicile.
Elle est assistée dans son activité par un employé. Kpandjapou exerce cette activité depuis plus de 42 ans.
Kpandjapou est à sa première expérience avec WAGES et sollicite un crédit de 400 000 FCFA remboursable en douze mensualités. Ce crédit servira à l’achat en grande quantité des sacs de charbon pour le développement de son commerce.
