Loan description:

Komi is a married man and a father to 2 children. He lives with his wife in the neighbourhood of Agbonou in the town of Atakpamé. Their eldest children is 8 years old, while the youngest is only 9 months. The eldest attends the primary school in the neighbourhood. Komi is a hairdresser by profession. He is 32 years old and has run his hairdressing business since 2002 – always in the same area where he lives. Komi started the business after a long period of apprenticeship, endorsed by a masters diploma in hairdressing. To launch the hairdressing business, which is called ‘Frank Coiffure’ (‘Frank Hairdressing’), he fitted out a workshop where he lives from which he can offer his services. Komi believes that due to the professional service that he offers, his customer base is increasing. He decided to seek a third loan from the microfinance organisation WAGES for 1,000,000 West African francs, which he will repay in 18 months. The loan will be used to purchase cement, sand, gravel, iron and other manner of materials for the construction of a new hairdressing salon. Komi was easily able to repay his previous 2 loans. He hopes however in the future to be able to live more easily and prosperously thanks to the revenue from his business.
