Loan description:
Junior Jose Suarez is 19 years old. He lives with his parents in San Jacinto which is in the district of Gonzanamá in the province of Loja in southern Ecuador. He completed secondary school but mainly for economic reasons could not continue any further. His parents own some land and since he was small Junior has helped with the farming so he has knowledge about various crops. About a year ago he went to work in the mines in a neighbouring province but returned recently. He wants to work independently and asked FACES for a loan to help buy all the necessary inputs to start growing tomatoes on his parent's land. He will sell the crop locally to wholesalers. Junior hopes to own his own farm one day. He intends to repay the loan over six months.
