Luis Javier Benavides is 64 years old. He is married with eight adult children. Three of his children are still studying. He lives with his family in the community of San Pedro de la Bendita, near the town of Catamayo. Don Luis has worked in agriculture all his life. For the last three years he has focused in particular on raising poultry and pigs and selling them for their meat. He has become quite well known locally for the quality of the animals he rears and sells. Don Luis sought a loan in order to improve the area where he keeps his pigs, buy animal feed, as well as purchasing more animals to rear. He intends to repay the loan over 12 months.
