Bosnia-Herzegovina
Loan description:
Senija Alicehajic is 46 years old and married. She lives in a place called Nemila near to the city of Zenica. Her and her husband have one son. When the Bosnian War was finished they couldn't keep working because their company was disintegrating. They had to find a solution so they decided to start a business in farming and raising livestock. At the beginning it was hard but bit by bit they managed to overcome their hurdles and expand their business. Today they have two cows, from which they produce milk to sell it to the local dairy. They also have around three hectares of land where they grow beans and potatoes to sell to regular customers in Zenica. They also have a tractor and Senija's husband provides a service for plowing soil. They are very pleased and happy because they have a job and income. Senija received one loan from the microcredit foundation Women for Women International and has now applied for another. She is going to buy another cow and expand her business further because they have a lot of orders.
