Loan description:
Savan Sos is 31 years old and a widow with one daughter who is eight years old. Savan's daughter studies at the local primary school. At the moment Savan and her daughter live in Pok Chmar village, which is in Sangke district, Battambang province. Savan has been running a general stall from her home for the past seven years and presently sells a wide range of products including water spinach, wax gourd (winter melon), yard long beans, cabbage, cucumber and pork. She generally buys new stock from the local market, which is located about five kilometres away from her home. To satisfy the demand from people in the village and since her working capital is currently limited, Savan has applied for a loan to buy new stock in bulk. She expects to repay this loan over nine months. In the future Savan hopes to run a general store bigger than the one she has now.
