The woman of this day ensures that the family is well taken care of despite the absence of the husband. Gertrude Gwini has proved that she has what it takes to be called by such a noble name as Mudzimai Wanhasi.

Gertrude Gwini is a married woman and mother of 2 children. She resides in Kuwadzana 1 in Harare, Zimbabwe. During their inception there were a group of 4 ladies and they are now 2 in the group. The other member in the group is a cross border trader and they usually travel together all the time.

Gertrude is a cross-border trader, a profession she has known ever since she was a girl. Now she is a 37 years old woman and still pursuing her career. One is expected to get weary by the continuous long travels but Gertrude gets stronger by each trip as she is so determined to ensure her business flourishes.

During her 1st loan cycle she successfully applied for a loan of $400 in 2013, since then her business started to improve tremendously. She crossed the border from Zimbabwe to Zambia and restocked African Java Print materials for ladies. With her subsequent loans she started travelling to other areas like Mozambique as an evidence of improved business. She restocked men’s formal shoes from there. Gertrude confessed that her marketing skills have been enhanced and she is now spreading wings by selling her goods to teachers in various schools and nurses in various hospitals and clinics.

Her personal life also indicates she has been working tirelessly indeed. She indicated that she is now dressing to kill to show the world that indeed one starts from the bottom and now she is at the top of the world. In addition to that Gertrude had Thrive to thank for cultivating a culture of saving money in her. With her regular savings she has managed to acquire a residential stand and is expecting to build a nice house for herself soon.

Currently Gertrude requires a loan she anticipates to restock the most demanded African attire materials. She also anticipates to open a glamorous boutique for ladies in the central business district of Harare.
