Fatima Varesevic is 59 years old and married. They live in their family house in a small mining town called Banovici in north-eastern Bosnia. Fatima started a business raising livestock several years ago. She has a cow, sheep and goats. She produces milk, homemade cheese and cream. She has regular customers for all of her products. Besides that she also grows vegetables. She has a smallholding where she grows beans, potatoes, onions and tomatoes. She is a hard worker, but a very modest person. She managed to develop her business in a short period of time and brought in income for her living and household expenses. Now she is planning to expand her business further. She received two loans from the microcredit foundation Women for Women International and she applied for another. With this loan she will buy another cow because she has a lot of orders and can no longer manage with one cow only.
