Alma

Loan description:

Alma Smriko is 51 years old and married. She lives with her husband in a place called Stranjani in the city of Zenica. Alma has one son who goes to secondary school. Her husband works for a local city company. In order to provide a better life for her family and herself she launched a business in farming several years ago. She has a smallholding where she grows beans, onions and potatoes. She has an agreement with her local store; she sells all of her produce to them. She used to have livestock as well, but when she became ill she had to sell it. Alma has been a very good client of the microcredit foundation Women for Women International for the last four years. She applied for another loan in order to prepare the soil for sowing and to buy seeds. She is also going to buy a heifer, because she wants to start raising livestock again. Alma is a very modest and honest person, but a great fighter too.
