Amrit Keuy is 37 years old and married with two daughters aged 9 and 5 respectively. Only the eldest is attending a local school, the youngest is still at home. They live in Ous Thouk village, Kampong Prieng commune, Sangke district, Battambang province. Amrit has been a farmer for the past ten years and at a moment farms six hectares of rice paddy located near his home. This year the yield has been good at around three tonnes per hectare. He keeps one tonne for his own family's consumption. He has used previous profits from farming to buy a small hand tractor. He applied for a loan in order to buy fertiliser and diesel for his tractor and water pump. He intends to repay the loan over nine months.
