Loan description:
Farzana Kousar is from Wireless colony, Lahore. She is 38 years old, married and has a son and a daughter. Both of her children go to school. About 15 years ago Farzana decided to establish her own business. She started making and selling fancy (made to match) bracelets worn by grooms on wedding day. These are locally known as “Gana”, and are made with a ball, fancy cloths, pearls and stones. Farzana Kousar buys her materials (stones, gum, fancy yarn and balls) from the market to make these bracelets. She sells the handmade bracelets to shopkeepers. She earns around 10,000 rupees (about $95) per month. This way, she is just about able to manage her household expenses. She wants to expand her business so she can earn more. She requested a loan to visit the market and buy more of the raw materials in bulk at lower costs. Her husband works and earns 8,000 rupees per month.
