Loan description:
Sokha Phai is 39 years old and married with five children, aged between 2 and 20. Only the third is attending a local school. They live in Anlong Svay village, Takream commune, Banon district, Battambang province. Sokha's family are farmers and own five hectares of rice paddy. This generally provides them with a yield of about three tonnes per hectare. She keeps one and a half tonnes for her family's own consumption, selling the remainder to a local trader. Aside from farming rice, she also has another business - she raises around 1,000 ducks. She requires a loan in order to buy fertiliser, more baby ducks and some feed for her ducks to ensure she gets more and good quality eggs. She aims to repay the loan over 14 months.
