Rasheedan Bibi lives in Ittefaq Pura, Badami Bagh in the city of Lahore. She is 42 years old and widow, with two sons and three daughters. She started working from home about seven years ago. She makes decorative items. These are mostly used at weddings and religious festivals, when people decorate their houses and streets. She buys plastic sheets, hard paper and yarn from the market. Rasheedan makes badges, artificial flowers and many other items which she then sells to wholesalers. She earns about 12,000 rupees a month. Her household expenses are hardly about manageable. She thinks she can expand her business and has applied for a loan to buy greater quantities of raw materials in different designs and colours, so that she can produce and sell more. She wishes to provide a good education for all her children so that they can be successful in life.
