Loan description:

Since leaving school in 2006 Sarafadini has been a retailer in electrical goods, such as torches and batteries. His business is experiencing excellent growth as it is targeted at all levels of society. Sarafadini lives in the neighbourhood of Assigamé in the town of Atakpamé and sources his stock from towns in the regions of Lomé and Lagos. He is married to a retailer and is father to a child, aged four. To ensure his business is well run, Sarafadini employs one person who helps to sell his products. Although he has not had much experience with the microfinance organisation WAGES, he is now asking to be granted his first loan, repayable over twelve months, for 500,000 West African francs. It will be spent, chiefly on the expansion of stock, as follows: 150,000 on torches, 100,000 on batteries and the remainder on electrical materials. Having shown himself to be a competent entrepreneur, he has already been able to provide for the education of his child and the needs of his family from the revenue generated by his business. He is very ambitious and plans to increase funds so that he can become a wholesaler and in the long-term build the home of his dreams.
