Loan description:

Odjoti is a very active woman, aged 43. She is married to a master builder and has three children aged 27 and 15. They live together in the neighbourhood of Kossibio where the two youngest children also attend the school in the area. For more than twenty years, Odjoti has specialised in the sale of grains (beans and corn) in the large market at Anié, the neighbouring locality to the town of Atakpamé. Today, she has mastered all of the parts of this very particular business. Odjoti sources her stock from a small agricultural village called Oké. She stores her products and then resells it at an opportune moment. She employs one person to help manage her business. Odjoti is a new client of the microfinance organisation WAGES. The growth of her capital has continued to improve with WAGES to the point where she feels she can overcome her concerns and scepticisms about microcredit and try out her first loan. She is seeking a loan for 600,000 West African francs for a period of twelve months; the money will entirely be used to expand her stock through the purchase of sacks of corn and beans. Today, Odjoti rents the shop in which she stocks her grains and hopes in the future to be able to build other shops where she can employ others to sell her grains.
