Admira Djakovic is 33 years old and married. She lives with her husband and three children in a village called Ljupnice near the city of Tuzla. Her husband works as a construction worker mostly in the spring and summer time. Her eldest son is 8 years old whilst her other two are 6 year old twins; all three attend school. Admira was unable to find permanent employment so she decided to start her own business in animal rearing. She wanted to make a better life for her children and improve their income. She has pigs and chickens and produces meat and eggs. She sells the meat from the pigs to her local butcher store and sells meat and eggs to local people. She has since significantly expanded her business and it now brings in a good income which covers household expenses and the schooling of her children. She is very satisfied and happy. Admira has already received two loans from the microcredit foundation Women for Women International and is now applying again for a new one. She needs this loan to buy more pigs.
