Loan description:
Gloria Condes is 61 years old and married with six children. All of her children have their own families and some work overseas. Through her hard work over the last 35 years, Gloria has been able to provide all of her children with a decent education. Gloria and her husband Mario, who is 59 years old, are now busy running a small farming business. They focus on growing rice grains in a field located in the village where they live. They live in Poblacion, which is in the town of Tabango, Leyte province. Her husband is responsible for planting the rice with the assistance of three other relatives who work part-time for them. Gloria herself is in charge of drying the harvested rice grains before it is sold. She is a member of the microfinance organisation, Omaganhan Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative where she has already repaid 15 short-term loans over the past three years. The loan she received recently will be used to purchase fertilisers for their rice crops in order to produce better quality grains. Gloria’s only dream is to have a stable life with a sufficient source of income for her family. Her earnings are for the needs of her children and grandchildren. She has promised to repay the loan over a period of teo months.
