Loan description:
Catherine sells fritters and soft drinks by the roadside opposite a school. She is requesting this loan to order flour, cooking oil, sugar and other baking ingredients in bulk. Catherine is 38 years old and married with four children. Three of her children are in school in Nyimba district. She has been in this business for over a year now. She started her business with the hope of helping her husband provide for the family. With the loan she receives she will also order cases of drinks as a way of boasting her business. Most of her customers are school children and passersby. She started this business because it is easy to manage and can generate profits quickly and regularly. Before she started the business Christine was farming and looking after her family. From the previous loans Catherine has made home improvements, bought household goods and sent her children to school. As a woman she is happy to be empowered financially through access to loans.
