Viman Soun is 33 years old and married with three children. Her eldest son is 16 and her youngest is 3. Viman and her family live in Haisan village, inThmor korl district, Battambang province. Viman and her husband, Kimheng Ok, have been sculpting for over 10 years from their home. Before this they were tradesman, buying the sculpted pieces in bulk from Kimheng's brother to sell in Chamkar Samrong and Kamakor village. However, after Viman's husband learnt the art of sculpting himself they decided to run the business themselves. Currently they accept a lot of orders, which they struggle to complete on time, and so have hired two workers to help. They accept a lot of orders to make chairs, beds and sculptures. To cope with the demand, Viman has sought a loan to buy sculpture equipment. If her business continues to grow, she will hire more villagers to help. She hopes also to provide a good education for all her children. Viman promises to repay her loan over 12 months (the picture is of Viman's husband, Kimheng).
