Loan description:
Loum Ban is 50 years old and married with five children. His eldest child is 27 and his youngest is 16. All of his children have their own jobs. They live in Prek trob village, which is in Ek Phnom district, Battambang province. Loum has been a member of Ek Phnom credit union for over three years. Loum and his wife, Yoeurt Ho, are farmers and they farm two hectares of rice paddy. The yield provides them around two and a half tonnes per hectare. They generally keep one tonne for their own consumption and sell the remainder to a miller. To earn extra income for the household, Loum raises pigs from home. As their working capital is limited, Loum has sought a loan to buy piglets and build a pigsty. Loum expects to pay his loan back over six months.
