Lomen Temperatura is 43 years old and married with four children aged 18, 13, 10 and 7 respectively – two are studying in a local secondary school while the other two are still in primary school. Her family lives in the neighbourhood of Mantalongon, in the town of Dalaguete, Cebu. She is a farmer, growing vegetables on land next to her home. She mainly focuses on growing carrots, onions and spring onions. The vegetables she harvests are delivered to the nearest public market and sold to market stallholders. She has sought a six month loan from the microfinance organisation, Lamac Multi-Purpose Co-operative, in order to buy better quality seeds, seedlings and fertiliser.
