Naseem Kousar lives in a locality of Lahore called Islampura. She is married and has five sons and one daughter. Her husband and three sons aged between 20 and 25 are all working and they jointly earn 25,000 rupees a month. Naseem herself started a “silma sitara” (traditional embroidery) business about 10 years ago. She earns 5,000 rupees per month (about $49). Since two of her children are still in education and with aspirations of completing their higher education they are facing a challenge covering their course fees. Naseem's finished clothes are worn by women at parties, festivals and marriage events. She sells her production in very popular market of Lahore called Shah Alam. She applied for a loan in order to expand her production through buying materials and fabrics in greater quantities so that she can produce and sell more.
