Hue

Hue is a 25-year-old married woman, with one young child. The family belong to an ethnic minority group and lives in the mountainous area of Nhu Thanh district in Thanh Hoa province. Her husband works as a labourer in a local shoe factory, while she engages in small-scale farming and animal husbandry. The combined income of the couple is just enough to make ends meet.

Despite their financial constraints, Hue aspires to expand their cattle operation. She sees an opportunity in the low cost of raising cattle due to the availability of free grazing land near their home. However, the couple lacks the capital to purchase additional cattle. As a result, Hue has requested a loan from Thanh Hoa MFI to buy three calves costing $618/£490 each. She will raise the calves and, when ready, she will breed them and sell the offspring to local traders.

Living in a mountainous area, Hue and her family face many challenges such as natural disasters and limited access to resources. However, she is determined to overcome these obstacles and provide a better life for her family. She believes that with support from the lenders, she will be able to grow her farm and improve the quality of life for her family.
