Emmanuel is 29 years old and single. He lives with his parents and siblings who are attending school. He lives near trading centre where he runs his own grocery shop.
Emmanuel has been operating a wholesale business for the past five years. He enjoys selling a variety of staple products such as rice, maize flour, biscuits and sodas, beans, cooking oils, as well as toiletries such as soap and toilet tissue and other household items. The profits generated through the business help to keep the basic needs covered, but to develop himself he has decided to increase his sales by investing in a larger inventory. He has requested a loan to achieve this purpose.
With this loan, he will purchase 10 sacks of rice, 10 sacks of salt, 12 sacks of beans, 10 gallons of cooking oil, and 8 boxes of biscuits, and the remaining balance will be invested in cleaning items, household items and day-to-day groceries. In addition to purchasing a larger amount of stock, he also intends to set aside funds to create positions for five permanent employees to help with distributing goods to a wider area of customers using his bicycle to reach people in different areas of his village. He hopes by having a distributer and his worker helping in the shop will lead to more sales and profits.
