Pata-eteng certainly made a good call when she decided to establish her business in an area undergoing development since she was very busy when we visited her at her home and shop. We did not spend too much time with Pata-eteng since we were distracting her from her business. However, she did get the opportunity to tell us that her business is doing well and she is very busy. She starts working at 6.45 every day and works six days a week. She buys all the materials for her business in bulk from the grand market in the Togolese capital, Lome and then resells these items from her shop. She supplies materials for a variety of customers and for various needs. One line of her work is selling and making school uniforms for local school children. This is a profitable arm of her business since all children in Togo must wear a school uniform so some customers just buy the fabric from her and make the uniform themselves and others buy the material and tailoring services from Pata-eteng. As we were leaving she playfully shouted after us that she needs more money to grow her business. So perhaps we will see Pata-eteng up on the website sometime soon!
