Jennifer sells animal feed, animal vitamins and animal medicines, as well as corn and rice for human consumption. She has a small shop in a good position in the market.
The loan enabled her to buy stocks in larger quantities, so she could get a better price. She sells on a per kilo, or per sack, basis to regular customers who come from nearby villages.
Her customers look for who in the market has the best price. Being able to buy in bulk has enabled her to offer the best price in the market and therefore to attract more customers. Her income has enabled her to send her three children to a private school. She hopes her children will take over the business when she retires. They already help out at the weekends. Her children save some of their pocket money with FCCT in the "Kiddie Savings Scheme".
Jennifer told me that business is good and she and her family are happy.
