When we arrived at Elise's house, she was returning from the market. We met her eldest daughter who often helps in the shop selling various food products. Her husband had gone to the fields. Elise updated us: with the loan she received in April 2013, she purchased a large amount of food products and also bought cosmetics. Her sales increased significantly and she was able to save about £12 every month. She used her savings firstly to strengthen her capital and renew stock but also to continue saving towards a plot of land. In fact she was to withdrew her savings soon to buy a plot of land in a village nearby. This had been her ambition for a long time. Her current plan is to build a house in the plot.
