Justine Quenum raises livestock: cows and goats. In March 2012 she obtained her first lendwithcare loan. It has enabled her to develop a new aspect of her business, selling cows. Since taking out the loan, Justine has managed to sell 4 cows in the north of Benin. She started out with 7 goats, but now she has 26 which she will sell onto restaurants in the area and also to local people when they have celebrations. She bought all of these with her last loan, and when she has sold them on she will start again with the profits she has made, increasing the numbers of livestock she purchases each time. She also keeps an additional 5 goats for reproductive purposes.
All of her animals receive veterinary care. Her principal clients are restaurants and butchers. If she is able to take another loan out, she envisages purchasing 10 cows and investing the profits in the purchase of a second plot of land.
