Loan description:

Mrs Rosalie Vodounou is a 60 year old lady who has been making ‘gari’ (this is fine to coarse flour made from cassava tubers and a popular West African food) in her village for 14 years, after taking over from her late mother. In order to attract more trade, Rosalie sells her produce to some customers on credit: payment is taken on an agreed date either per week, per fortnight, or per month. She is well-liked as she does a lot to help her neighbours, and gives them advice. She is very happy with what she does for a living as it enables her to send her only child to school. He is currently in his final year, she says with a great deal of pride. She sources her stock from the fields in her village, and delivers the majority of her products to the international market at Dantokpa, Cotonou (Benin), thanks to the 4 employees that help her to run her business. A trusted client, she has already benefitted from several ACFB microloans. She plans to use the loan of 250,000 West African francs, which she is now requesting to increase her stock of raw material before there is a shortage, and the resulting profit would help her to send her child to university.
