Jacqueline Dumdum is 54 years old, married and has 2 children. For the past 4 years, she has been operating a small 'sari-sari' or genral convenience store in Singsing, Balamban, Cebu. She sells a variety of basic household items, foods and snacks as well as fresh fruit and vegetables. She tries to stock a little of everything so that people in her local community visit her shop instead of going to the public market and thereby saving on their travel time and costs. She has sought a loan to re-stock her shop. Once household expenses are met, her main priority is ensuring her children complete their education. One day, she hopes that she can afford to buy her own small vehicle so that she can travel a little further to the nearest town and buy and bring her own stock.
