Loan description:
Pheap Hon is 39 years old and produces rice on around one hectare of land. She produces dry season rice, which only takes about three months to cultivate before it is ready for harvest. Once Pheap has harvested her rice she grows green beans on around 3,200 square metres of land. This helps provide an additional source of income for her family. To help Pheap try and create a sustainable income from her rice farming she has applied for a twelve month loan to cover the costs of buying essential agricultural inputs such as fertiliser, insecticide and weed killer. She will also use a part of the loan to cover the cost of ploughing her land. She will use most of the income she generates from rice farming to cover the costs of preparing and farming her land next season as well as cover her daily expenses.
