Vicente Rafael Berru Gualán is 22 and lives with his partner and their three children in the district of La Merced in the town of Cariamanaga. He makes a living from raising and selling chickens. He supplies various shops throughout the town with fresh meat. Demand has increased in recent weeks and he struggles at times to fulfill all the orders. He has therefore decided to seek a loan in order to buy more chicks to raise as well as food for several months for the birds. Additionally, Don Vicente works a building labourer when he has opportunities. He intends to repay the loan over nine months.
