Goudolé is a widow. She has one child who is a student. They live together in the house build by her late husband. For 30 years, Goudole has been a producer of akassa. Akassa is a type of dough made of maize and used as a starch food in Benin. She sells all her production at the Sedje market. She is a customer of the microfinance institution ACFB and in the last 4 years, she has received and repaid several loans. Goudole is at present applying for a new loan that will allow her to buy 2 loads of maize at the Zougodo market, plus some teak leaves that she uses to wrap the dough. She uses the income generated by her business activity in her child’s education to ensure him a better future.
