Yenoukoume is a producer of palm nut oil. She is married and has 6 children. She is 56 and has been producing palm oil in the traditional way of Benin since her youth. She buys the palm nut from her neighbours and sells her produce at her local market. Yenoukoume has been a customer of the microfinance institution ACFB for 3 years, during this time she has received and repaid 6 previous loans that have help her to develop and strengthen her business. At present, she is applying for a loan of 1,100,000 that she will use to buy 3 loads of palm nuts that will cost 600,000F and a plot of land that costs 500,000F. This plot is to start farming her own palm nuts, something that she has wanted to do for a long time. With the production and sale of the palm nut oil, she will pay for the credit, and she will also make a profit that she will use to contribute to the daily expenses of her household and that will improve the living conditions of her family.
