Nelly Marizaca is a seamstress and requested a loan in order to puchase an industrial sewing machine. She is 43 and makes new clothes and also repairs and alterations. She has more than twenty years of experience having started work as a teenager when she had to support her child. She actually received formal vocactioal training in tailoring and worked in various workshops for a time. However, she eventually set up her own business with a loan from the microfinance organisation Fundacion FACES. Her clientele has grown and she now even employs assistants. The new sewing machine will enable her to complete orders more efiiciently - she has struggled at times completing orders with old equipment. She intends to repay the loan over the next nine months.
