Loan description:
Emma Delfina Jaramillo Lapo is 60 and a widow with five children. Doña Emma is from the district of ‘El Guabo’ near the small town of Cariamanga. She is a small-scale vegetable farmer and also buys and sells fruits. She learned vegetable farming from her parents and in turn is teaching her children. It can be physically demanding work at times and she has found that her children are not always willing to put in the necessary labour. However, demand for fresh quality produce is always high and she has a ready market for her products. Doña Emma requested a loan in order to buy quality seeds, compost, and some tools.
