Benin
Loan description:
Tomènou Djigbe is a married woman with 6 children whose ages range between 20 and 5 years old. All the children are students. Her husband is a farmer. Tomenou is 40 years old and she never went to school or had the opportunity to receive training. Tomenou produces red palm oil in the traditional way of South Benin. She buys the red palm nut from her neighbours in the nearby villages and employs 2 people to help during the periods of intense production. She has been in this business for 10 years and has previously benefited from loans made by the microfinance institution ACFB. At present she is applying for a new loan, to buy a large amount of palm nuts. She will use the profits to pay for her household expenses, she will also save some of it to buy an oil presser in future. This would make the domestic oil production less harsh.
