Loan description:
Mariana de Jesús Alvarado has been earning an income from raising and then selling chickens and pigs for the past 50 years. She started when she was just 14 years old. It is an activity which always generates an income and is easily combined with other household chores. She is married and has nine children. Her husband owns a small truck and he rents it out to persons wanting to transport their goods. In fact, they recently replaced an older truck for a newer one and are paying off the instalments. Dona Mariana requested a loan in order to buy both piglets and chicks and feed for the same. The chickens can be sold after 2-3 months while the pigs take a little longer. She sells directly in the local market to retailers. She intends to repay the loan over nine months.
