Loan description:
Amada Esperanza is 73 and a widow. She runs a shop. She has ten children themselves now adults. Her husband passed away nine years ago due to a pulmonary infection. She used to run a restaurant in the town centre but stopped working when her husband became ill and she decided to look after him full-time. When he died she inherited his pension because he worked in the public sector - the Ministry of Health. Dona Amada still wanted to be independent and continue working and decided, with the help of children, to establish a small shop selling basic foods, sweets, stationary, and photocopying services very close to her home. The shop is close to a local college and many of her customers are students. She requested the loan in order to finance the physical repair of her home which has become damaged and what is left over she will use to buy new stock. The loan is for 12 months.
