Loan description:
Falilatou Ali is married with 4 children whose ages are between 18 and 6. Falilatou is 35 years old. She had to leave school at an early age. Later on she trained as a dressmaker and has used her tailoring skills to generate income for over 15 years. However, this on its own did not generate much income and when her household expenses started to increase she decided to start a shop while keeping the sewing business. She has a stall at her house and she sells mainly fresh items used for sauces such as fresh tomatoes, green and red peppers, eggs, chicken stock, salt, condiments, red palm oil and peanut oil. She also sells pasta, rice, maize and other products. She buys the products for the shop at the Ouando market in Porto Novo. Falilatou has been a customer of the microfinance institution ACFB for several years and she has recently asked for a new loan. She intends to use the money to buy more supplies for her shop and dress-making businesses. She will use the profits to improve the living conditions of the family, to pay for the children’s school fees and to save to buy a plot of land.
