Loan description:
Samut En is 41 years old and married with four children, they are between thirteen and five years old - two oldest are at government school. They live in Doun En village, Prek Loung commune, Ek Phnom district, Battambang province. Samut and his wife have farmed for past over 15 years and they farm three hectares of rice paddy to farm dry season rice. The yield from their rice provides them around three tons per hectare and they sell their crops to local trader who buys directly from their village. In addition, to earn extra income for their household they also have another one hetare plot of land to grow some watermelon, maize and green beans on the land. After three months just they can pick these agricultural products to sell on the market. They also use their own walking tractor to operate their farm for the past three years which enables to farm on time and reduce the cost. During this year their working capital is limited so they applied for a loan in order to cover their farming of watermelon, green bean and maize including buying seed, insecticide, weed killer and diesel for tractor to plough their farming land.
