Loan description:
Sang Kong is 43 years old and married with four children. They are between ten and nineteen years old, all of them are at government school. They live in Watkanteu village, Kanteu I commune, Banon district, Battambang province. Sang and his wife farm around three hectares of rice which yields an average of around two tons per hectare. They intend to keep one ton of this rice for their own consumption and the rest will be sold to a local trader. However, aside from rice, Sang is also a carpenter and he specialises in building wooden houses. As his source of fund is low, he decided to take a loan in order to farm his rice so he can pay for ploughing costs, buy fertilizer and insecticide. A part of loan also used to buy carpentry equipment.
