Bosnia-Herzegovina
Loan description:
Samira Mujezinovic is from the district of Stup in the capital city of Sarajevo. She is 41 and married with one daughter and one son. Both attend school. Her husband is disabled having been injured during the Bosnian War in the 1990s. In a very difficult economic situation with salaried employment opportunities scarce she decided to develop her own business - she raises and sells chickens and turkeys for their meat. She also owns some land and from spring through to autumn she grows and sells strawberries and rasperries. Through these activities she can cover most household expenses. She comments that 'The most important thing for me is that I am the example for my children on how to live a decent and honourable life'. Since 2008 Samira has been an excellent client of the microcredit foundation 'Women for Women International' having received and repaid several loans. She requested a new loan in order to buy more chickens and feed in bulk.
